Since its opening in November 2003, the Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media [YCAM] has been pursuing new forms of artistic expression based on media technology in connection with the human body. A creative cultural environment for production, transmission and collaboration, the Center has been serving as a venue for media art exhibitions, sound art and other stage performances, workshops, film screenings, and various other events.
This website was set up with the purpose to introduce from diversified viewpoints a number of projects highlighting the characteristics and originality of YCAM, around a core of previous works produced at the Center.
YCAM has broad experience in creative work related to media technology and the human body. By showcasing these past achievements, the website aims to provide a platform for illustrating new visions of artistic expression that keeps changing with the time.
